H.E.B Reader Laments! Cost Of Aso Ebi Is Too Much.. What Are Your Thoughts?

An H.E.B Reader Sent This..Helen good morning oo! A friend of mine is getting married and her aso ebi cost 40k.. Am just thinking oo! Why should I buy aso ebi for 40k and at the end of the event I’ll be given one pack of spaghetti and tin tomato as souvenir? Why cant the aso ebi be given to the guests for free. Afterall, they are coming to celebrate with her…Some people buy the fabric at a very cheap rate and they end up reaping people off.. I think the amout aso ebi are been sold these days is just too expensive…

Dear H.E.B reader … What is your take on this issue?

N40k for aso ebi?…I feel its an avenue used to reduce attendance. Instead of taking the wedding abroad, make the aso ebi expensive and only the important (rich) people will attend. By the way, if I don’t wear the Aso Ebi of a wedding mean that I will be disallowed from attending the wedding? This aso ebi thing is just ludicrious and totally absurd. Enough already! In no time, aso ebi will be a N1 Million.

I think the original concept of Asoebi has been trivialised. It used to be a family thing but has now extended to even strangers wishing to wear it for the sake of uniformity. It’ll take someone who hasn’t taken time to build self esteem to a good degree that’ll think you might be offending the celebrant not wearing her ‘Asoebi’. I just believe choices most especially by our beloved ladies ought to be made wisely. Don’t trade birthright for Asoebi ooo… My thought…

A friend deleted me and four of her friends on bbm and also on Facebook just bcos we didn’t buy d asoebi she sold for 35k. I’m sure if we had bought d cloth and not attended d wedding, she wouldn’t had bothered at all. what we fail to know is that presence matters more than asoebi.
