Anyone who tortures a child deserves one of the hottest corners of hell.

The stories we’ve seen over the last few days have been absolutely heartbreaking, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them.

The most disturbing part? Much of this abuse is being meted out by mothers. Mothers who have experienced the pain of pregnancy and childbirth are inflicting unimaginable pain on children. It is beyond comprehension. I genuinely look at these children and just want to take them home with me so this can never happen to them again.

And when we’re ready, we also need to have an honest conversation about underage domestic workers. That whole “we’re training them” ideology is complete nonsense if that child isn’t being loved, protected, educated, clothed, fed, and cared for exactly as your own children are.

We also need to talk about the parents who have children they simply cannot provide for, only to send them away for someone else to “train.” I watched the reunion between the little boy in the picture and his mother, and I was furious.

Call me harsh, but many of the scars on his body weren’t fresh. If she had been checking on him regularly, surely she would have seen signs that he was being abused.
And then I noticed she was carrying another baby.

You had to send your 10-year-old son away to work as a househelp because you couldn’t care for him. Why bring another child into the same situation?

And if you know a child is being abused and you choose to stay silent, you’re part of the problem too.

Protect children. ALWAYS
