Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s Ailing Daughter, Sonia, Publicly Begs for a Kidney Donor

Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s daughter, Sonia, has come out publicly to beg for a kidney donor, three years after she was diagnosed with kidney disease. In her appeal, Sonia revealed that her family has battled to save her life, and has taken her to various hospitals but the illness persisted. The 25-year-old lady also revealed that her illness is a genetic one and doctors advised against donation from any member of her family. She also stated that there’s no reward involved.

It would be recalled that senator Ike Ikweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka,  were arrested by the British police on June 23 on allegations of human trafficking and organ harvesting that violates the country’s Modern Slavery Act.

Metropolitan police had accused the lawmaker of conspiring to bring a child to the United Kingdom for organ harvesting, saying the victim is a 15-year-old boy.

See Sonia’s appeal below.
