5 Things I Learnt From The Maiden Edition of Hotel Expo Nigeria Event Day 1

I attended first edition of the Hotel Expo and i learnt a few things I’ve decided to share. So if you run a hotel or restaurant business, you will find this post valuable.

Topic: How to get your workers to provide quality service even if you can’t pay them. (FOCUS: HOSPITALITY BUSINESS)

1. Expose your staff to nice restaurants: Managers can help by experiencing other restaurants. Allow your staff experience the food and drinks from other restaurants and then assess the quality of the restaurant together.

2. On-boarding program : If you want your staff to provide great hospitality in your hotel or restaurant, it starts with the company’s culture and the owner. Imbibe your company culture into your staff.

3. Invest in your staff: As much as you invest in your building, power etc. You must invest in your staff. Have trainings for your staff. Your staff has parents, siblings and aspirations . To have thr besy staffs, you have to treat them right.

4. Do a mind-change orientation: Make your staff believe they have a stake in the business. Let them know they play an important role and the business. Let them know you value them and that without them the business cannot function.
