Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, who died in the early hours of Jan. 23, 2015, was buried in an unmarked grave today. In this picture, mourners gather around his grave at the Al-Oud cemetery in Riyadh.

Ask “why an unmarked grave?” In Saudi Arabia, they believe that in death all are equal. No difference between the rich and the poor or a King and his subjects. You do not take any earthly goods nor your title with you all you take are the deeds you did while on earth to be judged on. May he rest in peace.
