Big Brother Stars, Pokello & Elikem Unveiled As Ambassadors For Africa Fashion Week Nigeria
The organisers of the much awaited Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) whose core aim is to provide visibility platforms for new talents and help gather international attention and awareness, has announced its new ambassadors. The event which is to hold in the month of May17th and 18th we have announced Pokello Nare and Elikem Kumordz, the soon-to-be couple as ambassadors of the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria, who were big brother housemates 2013 (The Chase). Elikem, a fashion designer who has a collection of designs is now a part of the AFWN and so also is Pokello. The Africa Fashion Week Nigeria is giving equal opportunities to emerging and top fashion designers to create a platform that will promote the African fashion and richness and make it embraced all over.
The two day event will have Grand patrons like Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, Senator Daisy Danjuma,Hon. Abike Dabiri and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija and Chief Oprah Benson as a Special Guest of Honour, fashion lovers, celebrities, fabric manufacturers, printers, jewelers, models, make-up artistes, buyers, potential designers and business fashion people to grace the event. This platform which celebrates and supports African creativity was held in London in 2011 and over 100 UK and non UK designers showcased their collections which was a huge success. The anticipated show would be wrapped-up with a gala fashion show and veteran fashion designer Hajia Abba Folawiyo will close the show.
According to Ronke Ademiluyi, the organiser and founder of AFWN, “the event is to bind emerging talents in the fashion industry, connect them to the right people, showcase them to their customers and potential ones, unleash the creativity in them, support them, give them an opportunity and platform to grow and create awareness.”
