Drunken Soldier Kills 3, Shattered His Own Legs

A drunk soldier (names withheld) attached to a Brigadier in Ogoja, Cross River State, last Sunday, killed three persons and shattered his own legs, when he drove his Honda Accord car recklessly.

The military man took his girlfriend (names withheld) to Okuku, the town close to brigade for the Yala new festival celebration and allegedly got drunk.

He decided to return to the barracks located a kilometre away against the advice of his host to allow someone else drive to the barracks but he refused. While he was speeding back, he hit an Okada (commercial motorcycle) and the car ran into a tree, killing the two boys on the Okada and his girlfriend. The woman, a mother of two, was said to have lost her husband, a soldier, to the Boko Haram violence in Maidu-guri, Borno State. in 2010.
