Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan organised a dinner event at Eko Hotel, Lagos, specially for women to thank them for their votes which saw her husband emerge President last year. She also said she was on an advocacy mission to preach the message of unity and peace. I hear it was a gathering of female professionals from all works of life… Female personalities like Senator Florence Ita Giwa, Billionaire entrepreneur Bola Shagaya, wife of Senate President Helen Mark were among the heavyweights that attended the event. But madam is it not too late to organise this thanksgiving event? Don’t you think it’s an unwarranted gathering, considering the fact that the country is facing problems of insecurity and could the fear of Boko Haram be the reason why this event was held in Lagos?
